Ordering Strategy

The menu is a massive binder; ignore the overwhelming options and head straight for the Bento boxes or the 'King Dragon' roll. Service is brisk, so order everything at once.

What to order

Safe first

Sushi Bento

The bento boxes are particularly good and with generous portions; the bento boxes are tasty and authentic; lovely bento boxes.

Hungry

Bento (with sushi, sashimi, tempura)

A veritable mountain of delicious bento, teriyaki, sushi, sashimi, tempura and miso...stuffing our faces for just under £20 a head.

Wildcard

Cuttlefish Sashimi

The flavour is rich and oily, almost unctuous, and the level of chew and mouthfeel feels slimy at first, but once you start chewing, unusually, you realise that this is a really good thing.

What to skip

Skip
Spicy Salmon RollsNot the best spicy rolls I’ve had (I find they’re better with a spicy sauce rather than chilli powder).

Good to know

Queues are standard (especially in Soho) and reservations are rare or hard to get. Service is functional bordering on rude. The Notting Hill branch is considered a favorite over the cramped Soho location.
